This article explains public information. It does not determine eligibility or replace an official notice.

What is the CM Punjab Tourism Internship Program 2026?

The CM Punjab Tourism Internship Program 2026 is a paid internship for graduates in Punjab. Its official name is the Chief Minister's Magnificent Punjab Tourism Internship Program. The Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department, known as TAMD, runs the programme for the Government of Punjab. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched it as a youth opportunity in tourism, heritage, archaeology and museums.

Graduates get real work inside government offices and heritage sites, and they learn how a public department plans visitor services, cares for heritage sites and runs museums.

As of 8 November 2026, Phase II is live. It opened in 2026 and expanded the number of places sharply.

Do not mix it up with other youth schemes. For an IT placement, read the CM Punjab IT Internship Program 2026 guide. For trade training, read the Punjab One Million Youth Skills Training guide. For university fee support, read the CM Punjab Honhaar Scholarship Program 2026 guide. For an interest free loan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, read the Ehsaas Naujawan Programme guide.

How much is the stipend and how long does it last?

The stipend is up to Rs 60,000 per month. The internship lasts for 3 months. That gives a total of up to Rs 180,000 across the full placement if an intern completes the term and meets the programme rules.

The words up to matter. The official portal describes the stipend as up to Rs 60,000, not as a fixed payment in every case. Secondary reporting says payment is linked to performance and paid through banking channels. Treat the full amount as the ceiling.

The 3 month duration is consistent across PakGuide360, NDO and Citizenschemes, and Phase II portal reporting also retains that term.

One secondary source differs. PersonalLoan.pk lists Rs 25,000 per month for tourism in a wider CM internship guide, which conflicts with the Rs 60,000 figure in tourism specific sources and Phase II portal reporting. This guide does not use the Rs 25,000 figure as a fact.

Interns who complete the programme also gain a government certificate of completion, according to PakGuide360. It is not a job offer. The official programme FAQ states that the internship does not offer permanent employment.

Phase I vs Phase II: what changed?

Phase I and Phase II are easy to mix up, because many older posts still show Phase I figures.

Phase I offered 1,000 paid internships, with a first batch of 250 interns starting in March 2025. Phase II opened in 2026 with around 4,000 positions. NDO lists 4,000 total seats and a first batch of 1,000 interns for Phase II.

The graduation window also changed. Older sources use 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024, while Phase II portal reporting uses 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025. Use the Phase II rules on the portal for your batch.

Who can apply for the CM Punjab Tourism Internship Program 2026?

Eligibility has five main parts: a Punjab domicile, 16 years of education from an HEC recognised university, a degree in a relevant field, a degree completed inside the qualifying window, and an age that meets the reported limit.

Do you need a Punjab domicile?

Yes. You must hold a Punjab domicile to apply. This rule is consistent across PakGuide360, NDO, Jobbazaar and Citizenschemes. Keep a clear scan of the certificate ready, as you must upload it.

What education do you need?

You need 16 years of education from an HEC recognised university. HEC means the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Students who are still studying are not eligible, according to NDO. The degree must be in a relevant field, and your institution must be HEC recognised.

Which graduation window applies: 2024 to 2025 or 2023 to 2024?

This is the main fact conflict in the public record.

The Phase II portal reporting gives 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2025. NDO, Jobbazaar and Citizenschemes all give that window for Phase II.

Older sources give 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024. PakGuide360 gives that window for earlier batches, and Meragharscheme, Apni Zameen Apna Ghar and Rozgarhub also use it.

As of 8 November 2026, this guide treats the 2024 to 2025 window as the Phase II figure reported from the portal, and the 2023 to 2024 window as the older Phase I figure. It is not a confirmed official notice seen directly on the portal by this guide. If your degree falls outside one window but inside the other, do not guess. Open mpip.punjab.gov.pk and read the window for the live batch.

What is the age limit? An unverified report

The age limit of 21 to 28 years is reported by several secondary sources, but it is flagged here as unverified. Do not treat it as a confirmed official fact. PakGuide360, NDO, Jobbazaar and Citizenschemes all repeat 21 to 28 years. Even so, this guide has not verified the age rule against a directly read official portal notice.

If you are near either edge of the reported range, check the portal before you rule yourself in or out. Enter your correct date of birth and CNIC details. A wrong date can affect verification.

Which degree fields are eligible?

Phase II covers a much wider set of subjects than tourism alone. The portal list, as reported by Citizenschemes and Jobbazaar, includes tourism and hospitality management, history, archaeology, business administration, marketing, information technology, architecture, fine arts, civil engineering, anthropology, economics, global hospitality and culinary arts, museum studies, heritage and cultural studies, and visual communication design. NDO adds computer science.

A business, IT or engineering graduate can fit the programme, not only a tourism graduate. Check the field list on the live portal, because the portal list is the one that counts for your batch.

Where will interns work?

Interns are placed in offices under the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department. PakGuide360 lists the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), the Directorate of Tourist Services (DTS), museums and archaeology sites. Citizenschemes lists DTS, TDCP, the Directorate General of Archaeology, Lahore Museum and other relevant locations.

The exact placement depends on vacancies and on the preferred district you choose in the form.

The work varies by placement and degree. It can cover tourism operations, heritage management, museum work, archaeology, IT and digital services, marketing, business administration and cultural promotion.

How to apply online at mpip.punjab.gov.pk

Apply only through the official portal at mpip.punjab.gov.pk, at the path mpip.punjab.gov.pk/internship/ reported by Jobbazaar. Do not use a WhatsApp agent or a paid agent who promises a seat. There is no application fee.

Follow these steps, in order:

  1. Open mpip.punjab.gov.pk and find the Magnificent Punjab Tourism Internship Program application page.
  2. Read the eligibility criteria shown for the live batch, including the graduation window and the closing date.
  3. Create an account with your CNIC number, mobile number and active email address, if the portal asks for registration.
  4. Fill in your personal, educational and contact details exactly as they appear on your official documents.
  5. Enter your Punjab domicile details and your degree details, including the institution and the completion date.
  6. Upload your degree, transcript, domicile certificate and photograph in clear scans.
  7. Select your preferred district or city for placement, where the form asks for it.
  8. Review every field, check the spelling of names and dates, and submit the form before the deadline shown on the portal.
  9. Save your application number or reference, if the portal gives one, for future checks.

Shortlisted candidates are selected on a merit basis and notified for placement, according to PakGuide360. Keep your contact details active and check the portal for updates.

What documents do you need?

Prepare clear scans before you start the form. A blurry scan can delay verification or lead to rejection. You need a valid CNIC, a Punjab domicile certificate, a degree or final transcript from an HEC recognised institution, a recent photograph, an active mobile number and bank account details.

Jobbazaar adds that the final list may include a CNIC or B-Form and other documents required by the portal. The portal form for your batch is the final list.

Never share your OTP, banking password or ATM PIN with any person who contacts you about the programme.

What happens after you apply?

Attendance is strictly monitored. The official portal states that it can be recorded with a GPS enabled mobile application, according to Citizenschemes. Interns must check in and out daily at the assigned location, according to PakGuide360. Failure to follow the rule can lead to absence marking and possible termination.

Leave is limited to a maximum of 2 leaves per month, with supervisor approval. Extra leave can reduce the stipend in proportion to the extra days, and can lead to termination, according to PakGuide360.

Conduct rules are also strict. They cover punctuality, formal dress, confidentiality, supervisor instructions, completion of assigned work and proper handling of government property. Interns must get permission before they leave the internship station during working hours.

Successful interns receive a government certificate of completion, according to PakGuide360. It does not convert the internship into a permanent job.

What should you check before you trust a deadline or an agent?

Deadlines are the second major conflict in the public record. The official portal still references 18 June 2025 for the first batch of Phase II, according to Citizenschemes, and no newer 2026 deadline has been confirmed in the sources checked for this guide.

Secondary sources give different 2026 dates: 15 September 2026 in Knowledge Testing and Internearn, 23 June 2026 in AllPrograms and SayJobCity, and 18 June 2026 in PunjabProgram. Those dates conflict, and none is confirmed here as the live official deadline. Open mpip.punjab.gov.pk and read the closing date for the current batch.

Fraud is a real risk with a popular paid programme. Reject claims such as pay us to confirm your seat, send your OTP for verification, pay a fee through WhatsApp, and permanent job guaranteed after the internship. There is no application fee, and no agent can guarantee selection.

Eligibility self check

Use this checklist before you submit.

  • I hold a Punjab domicile, with a clear copy ready to upload.
  • I have completed 16 years of education from an HEC recognised university.
  • My degree is in a relevant field listed for Phase II, or in a similar relevant field.
  • My degree date falls inside the graduation window on the live portal.
  • I have checked the reported age range of 21 to 28 years on the portal.
  • I have a valid CNIC, photograph, degree or transcript, and bank details ready.
  • I will apply only at mpip.punjab.gov.pk, and I will pay no fee to any agent.
  • I understand it lasts 3 months, pays up to Rs 60,000 per month, and offers no permanent job.
  • I have read the closing date on the portal and will submit before it.

If you cannot tick a line, do not submit a guess.
