What does a BISP tehsil office do?
A BISP tehsil office is the Benazir Income Support Programme's local service point. Most families start or fix their BISP case there. It hosts the Dynamic Registration Centre desk for the free NSER household survey, and that survey produces the PMT score that decides Benazir Kafaalat eligibility.
The same office enrols children in Benazir Taleemi Wazaif and hands out the free Benazir SIM that BISP now uses for digital wallet payments. It also updates household details and takes complaints. Cash is not normally paid out at the tehsil office. You withdraw it from authorised payment points after BISP credits your wallet.
- NSER dynamic survey for new households, and survey updates (free)
- Benazir Taleemi Wazaif enrolment with the child's B-Form and school slip
- Free Benazir SIM for the BISP digital wallet
- Corrections to household details held by BISP
- Complaints about deductions, missing payments or wrong records
How do I find the BISP office near me?
The official list on bisp.gov.pk is the most reliable starting point. It names each tehsil office with its landline and address. Map apps help with directions, but BISP is still opening new tehsil offices, so older lists and map pins can miss a closer one.
- Step 1: Open bisp.gov.pk and go to Contact Us, then Regional Offices Contacts.
- Step 2: Choose your province and zone, then find your district and tehsil in the table.
- Step 3: Note the tehsil office address and landline listed there.
- Step 4: Search that address in Google Maps for directions, or search "BISP tehsil office" with location turned on.
- Step 5: Call the tehsil landline or the 0800-26477 helpline to confirm the office is open before you travel.
BISP offices by province and city
BISP's network has three layers: six regional offices headed by Director Generals (Regional Directors in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan), 33 divisional offices, and 385 tehsil offices that serve the public directly. Most people only ever need their tehsil office.
For Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, use the official list on bisp.gov.pk or the regional numbers in the next section.

City guides for Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Peshawar
We keep separate, checked address lists for the cities that generate the most BISP office searches. Each guide lists tehsil offices by area, with what to bring and the local landmarks that make them easier to find.
Official BISP regional office contact numbers
Regional offices handle escalations that a tehsil office cannot resolve. The numbers below are the regional contacts listed on bisp.gov.pk in October 2026. Several unofficial sites still print older numbers, so check the official page if a line does not connect.
| Region | Office | Contact number |
|---|---|---|
| Punjab | Director General (Punjab) | 042-99333274, 042-99333273 |
| Sindh | Director General (Sindh) | 021-99332915 |
| Khyber Pakhtunkhwa | Director General (KP) | 091-9331791 |
| Balochistan | Director General (Balochistan) | 081-2870156-7 |
| Azad Jammu and Kashmir | Director AJ&K | 05822-924111 |

Who should visit a BISP office?
Visit a BISP tehsil office if your household has never been surveyed or if your survey is old or wrong. Enrolled families also visit for help with a payment, a SIM or Taleemi Wazaif. Any family can request the survey, because eligibility is decided afterwards by the PMT score, not at the door.
BISP's current cut-off for Benazir Kafaalat is a PMT score of 32, or 37 for households with a differently-abled member, as approved by the BISP Board in September 2021. Eligible women have received Rs 14,500 per quarter since the March 2026 increase.
- Households that have never been surveyed
- Families whose survey is old or has wrong details
- Kafaalat beneficiaries with a payment or Benazir SIM problem
- Mothers enrolling children in Taleemi Wazaif
What are BISP office timings?
BISP lists its working hours as Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, the same hours as its 0800-26477 helpline. Plan tehsil office visits for weekdays and avoid gazetted holidays.
Individual tehsil offices and payment campsites can work different hours during survey drives, payment cycles and Ramadan. If a map listing says "open now" but you are travelling far, call the office landline from the official list first.
- Working days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm, the same as the helpline
- Weekends and gazetted holidays: plan your visit for a weekday instead
- Survey drives and payment cycles: confirm hours with the office landline
What documents should you bring to a BISP office?
Bring originals for every household member involved, plus the phone you will use for the digital wallet if you are collecting a Benazir SIM. A missing document usually means a second visit.
- Your original CNIC, which must be valid; renew an expired card at NADRA first
- CNICs of adult household members and B-Forms of children, for the NSER survey
- For Taleemi Wazaif: the child's B-Form and a school admission or attendance slip verified by the teacher
- For a free Benazir SIM: your original CNIC and your own mobile phone
- Where relevant: the husband's death certificate for a widow's case, and the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) if staff ask for it
What happens when you visit for the NSER survey?
The survey is a short interview at the Dynamic Registration Centre desk, and it follows the same four steps for every household.
You do not get a decision at the counter. BISP calculates the household's PMT score from the survey answers. You check the result later by sending your CNIC to 8171 or on the 8171 web portal.
If the score is 32 or below, or 37 or below with a differently-abled member, the woman of the household can be enrolled in Benazir Kafaalat. If the score is higher, the household is not eligible for Kafaalat at that time. Families whose circumstances change can request a fresh survey later.
Answer every question truthfully and keep the household list complete. If anyone at the office asks for a fee, a form purchase or a processing charge, refuse. BISP's March 2026 press release says the survey involves no forms or fees.
- Staff check each adult's CNIC
- NADRA's biometric verification confirms identity
- Household details such as family members, housing and assets are recorded
- BISP calculates the PMT score later, and you check the result on 8171
Which office handles what?
Many wasted trips happen because people go to the right place for the wrong task. Use this table to match your task to the office that can actually complete it.

| What you need | Where to go | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| New registration or survey update | BISP tehsil office (Dynamic Registration Centre desk) | Free; no forms or fees |
| Taleemi Wazaif enrolment | BISP tehsil office or enrolment camp | The child's B-Form must be verified through NADRA |
| Free Benazir SIM and wallet activation | BISP office or designated campsite | Bring your original CNIC and your own phone |
| Collecting cash | Authorised payment point after the SMS from 8171 | Biometric verification; deductions are not allowed |
| New CNIC, B-Form or record correction | NADRA Registration Centre | BISP cannot change NADRA records |
| Unresolved complaint | Divisional or regional office, or 0800-26477 | Note the date and the name of the office you visited |
BISP helpline numbers and official channels
BISP's toll-free helpline is 0800-26477, open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and 8171 is the only official BISP number for SMS. BISP's March 2026 press release repeated that messages from any other number are fake.
For complaints, start with your tehsil office or the helpline. BISP's website also links to its complaint cell and to the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit (PMDU) citizen portal for unresolved cases.
- 0800-26477: toll-free helpline, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
- 8171: the only official BISP SMS number
- Tehsil office: complaints in person
- PMDU citizen portal: unresolved cases, linked from bisp.gov.pk
Common problems at BISP offices and how to fix them
Most problems at a BISP office come from outdated addresses, unofficial fees or NADRA records that need fixing first. The table below lists the usual issues and the next step for each.
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Office has moved or is closed | Check the official list on bisp.gov.pk and call the landline, because new tehsil offices keep opening. |
| Someone asks for money to register you | Refuse. BISP says the survey and all its services are free; report it on 0800-26477. |
| Agent deducts part of your payment | Count the cash, refuse any deduction and report the agent to BISP immediately. |
| Told your survey is not found | Ask the tehsil office to start a fresh dynamic survey for your household. |
| CNIC expired or details wrong | Fix the record at a NADRA centre first, then return to the BISP office. |
| Long wait on survey days | Arrive early on a weekday and bring every document in one go. |
Frequently asked questions
Where to withdraw BISP money?
BISP payments are withdrawn from authorised payment points, such as designated retailers and campsites, with biometric verification after you receive the official SMS from 8171. Since BISP's 2026 move to SIM-based digital wallets, the money is credited to your Benazir SIM wallet first.
How can I register my CNIC for BISP?
You register through the free NSER dynamic survey at your BISP tehsil office, not by SMS or on a website. Take your original CNIC and your family's documents; the survey produces the PMT score that decides eligibility.
How do I check my BISP payment by CNIC number?
Send your 13-digit CNIC to 8171 by SMS or enter it on the official 8171 web portal. The reply shows your eligibility and payment status, so you only need to visit the office if the result tells you to.
Can I register for BISP online without visiting an office?
No. BISP's official route in 2026 is the in-person dynamic survey, which is free and involves no forms. Websites claiming to register you online are not official.
Is there any fee for BISP registration?
No. BISP's March 2026 press release states that the registration survey is completely free, with no forms or fees, and that all BISP services are provided free of cost.
Can I send someone else to the BISP office on my behalf?
Usually not for anything that needs your fingerprints, such as biometric verification for the survey or collecting a Benazir SIM. A relative can ask questions for you, but call the helpline first if illness stops you from going.
How do I report fraud or unauthorized deductions?
Report it immediately to the BISP helpline on 0800-26477 or at your tehsil office, and note the agent's details if you can. In March 2026 BISP's chairperson told beneficiaries to receive their full payment and refuse any deduction.
Is the BISP office open on Saturday?
BISP lists Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm as its working hours, so plan tehsil office visits on weekdays. Special survey or payment drives may run on other days, so check with the office landline before a weekend trip.
Should I visit the Ehsaas Program office instead?
There is no separate Ehsaas office to visit. The cash programmes branded Ehsaas until 2022 are now run by BISP, so your BISP tehsil office handles them.
Is there a BISP WhatsApp helpline?
BISP's official channels are the 0800-26477 helpline and 8171 for SMS, and we could not confirm any official BISP WhatsApp helpline. Treat WhatsApp accounts offering BISP registration or payments as unofficial.
